Chef Russell Rummer was born into cooking. Raised in Cleveland Ohio, his earliest memories go back to holidays in his grandmother’s Southern Ohio kitchen where he would help her prepare elaborate meals and learn how to can fresh tomatoes from her backyard garden. A professional chef herself, Rummer’s grandmother handed down his culinary roots, which inspired him to travel the world in search of new and exciting culinary adventures.After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1998 with a degree in hospitality management, Rummer moved to Miami Beach where he enrolled in culinary school at Johnson and Wales University. Upon graduating with a degree in culinary arts, Rummer took his first position as lead line cook at BAMBU Restaurant in Miami Beach, where he was introduced to Asian cuisines with influences from Japan, Southeast Asia and China.
